Election of the Student Union President at CITYCOT University

CITYCOT University annually conducts the election of the Student Union President as part of its commitment to promoting democratic participation, student leadership, and academic community engagement. The election serves as an important platform through which students democratically elect representatives who will advocate for their interests and contribute to the development of the university environment.






As part of the preparation for this year’s election, the university officially appointed the Student Election Committee to oversee and manage all electoral activities in a transparent and organized manner. The committee subsequently announced the official opening of the election process, during which two student parties registered to contest the election: the Han and Hiigsi Party and the Hana-qaad Party





In addition to supervising the election process, the Student Election Committee also organized class representative elections across the various faculties to ensure inclusive student representation throughout the electoral process. Following the completion of the registration procedures, the committee officially issued candidacy certificates to the approved contestants running for different positions within the Student Union leadership.
The candidates representing the Han and Hiigsi Party included:
- Presidential Candidate: Qazim Abshir Ali
- Vice Presidential Candidate: Farxiyo Mohamed Bile
- Secretary Candidate: Faaiso Cabdi Aasiis Maxamuud



Meanwhile, the Hana-qaad Party presented the following candidates:
- Presidential Candidate: Abdisamed Said Salah
- Vice Presidential Candidate: Naima Cabdi
- Secretary Candidate: Sakariye Cabdilahi Jaamac



The general Student Union election was officially held on the 25th of the month at the Main Campus of CITYCOT University through a one-person, one-vote democratic system. The election was conducted in a peaceful and well-organized atmosphere, reflecting active student participation, transparency, and a strong spirit of democratic engagement within the university community.
Following the final vote count, the Hana-qaad Party emerged victorious and secured the leadership of the CITYCOT University Student Union. The elected leadership is as follows:
- President: Abdisamed Said Salah
- Vice President: Naima Cabdiasiis Yuusuf
- Secretary: Zakariye Cabdillaahi Jaamac








Abdisamed Said Salah, who contested the presidency under the Hana-qaad Party, officially won the position of President of the Student Union after receiving strong support from the student body. His victory reflects the confidence students have placed in the newly elected leadership and the expectations for continued progress in advancing student affairs and strengthening collaboration between students and university administration.
The administration of CITYCOT University, the Student Election Committee, and the wider student community extended their congratulations to the newly elected Student Union leadership, wishing them success in fulfilling their responsibilities with integrity, accountability, and dedication.
