A delegation from Yemen, Puntland, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) visited CITYCOT University

on October 25, 2025, to engage in discussions regarding marine resource management and the sustainable utilization of marine resources. The delegation was led by Yemen’s Deputy Minister of Marine Resources, Hon. Hamid Abdullah Saeed, and included key figures such as Hon.Mahmoud Mohamed Ali, the Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources for Puntland,






along with Mohamed Said Black, the Director General of the Ministry of Fisheries, and a substantial team from the ministry. Additionally, the UNDP team, headed by Muse Duale Adan, participated in the visit. CITYCOT University’s President, Eng. Abdulhakim Husein Urug,












and the university’s management warmly welcomed the delegation, providing an overview of the institution’s achievements and advancements. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration to promote the sustainable use of marine resources and highlighted the critical role of marine science education, training, and research in empowering local communities. This visit signifies a pivotal moment for international cooperation in marine resource development, an area where CITYCOT University is actively involved.
